a) Write Newton?s 2nd Law for the particle in its component form (x and y), and substitute the second derivative of the particle position for the acceleration in each direction (i.e. ax = d2 x/dt2 ).

b) Using the information in the supplied Matlab supplement, rewrite your second order equations as two coupled first order equations that Matlab can solve. Note that because you have a 2nd order ODE for the x coordinate direction and another independent equation for y, you will have 4 equations all together.

c) Integrate your system of equations using the function ODE45 to find the trajectory of the particle as a function of time.
